We would like to welcome you to Barry Elementary School! We are located at 3401 Thornton Street in Clovis, New Mexico. Our enrollment fluctuates between 250 and 300 students.  We have a diverse population of neighborhood, country, and military students. 

The staff of Barry Elementary is comprised of over 30 highly trained professionals with over 320 years of combined experience.  100% of our teachers either have their Masters Degree or are currently working to acquire it.  All teachers have completed a year long intensive study designed to increase their knowledge in the areas of reading including phonemic awareness, phonics, vocabulary, fluency, comprehension, spelling and writing.  Using the SRA Imagine It! reading program combined with excellent reading strategies, Barry’s staff provides a well-balanced reading curriculum based on current research, knowledge, and training.  Teachers are completing a study designed to increase their knowledge in math, learning in detail the best strategies for teaching number sense, numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, data analysis, problem solving, reasoning and proof, communication, connections and representation.  

At Barry Elementary we believe that music, physical education, art and library are important components to your child’s education.  We work to create a balanced education through a variety of programs.  You may read more about each of these areas through “Programs” link.
