This makes the arts as essential to success in daily living as knowing how to read, write and compute. Education in the arts affects the quality of learning in all content areas and to the overall learning environment. Barry Elementary use the Adventures in Art Curriculum as a tool for inspiring students to perceive, create, and appreciate the visual arts. We encourage critical and creative thinking while building an awareness of art from around the world and in everyday life. Students attend art classes twice weekly. Student work is on display in the lobby. We rotate this work out each month, displaying some of the projects and activities that students are learning in class. These are organized by grade level and we encourage you to stop by and look at the work of our future artists! |
