Hello, student

my name is Gaylinda Long and I am thrilled to be teaching at Cameo Elementary School. I was born and raised right here in Clovis and graduated from Clovis High School. I understand the pride and responsibility of being a Clovis Wildcat, and hope to instill that kind of thinking into each and everyone of my students. I went to college at Eastern New Mexico University; receiving a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in mathematics, and another Bachelors Degree in History. I am currently working on my Masters Degree and hope to complete it within the next two years. I taught 8th grade algebra/math two years in Lovington, NM at Taylor Middle School, and I am excited to be working with 6th graders this year.

Philosophy

math My philosophy of teaching is simple: What we believe, we become!!! I know that each and every student has the ability within themselves to be successful, and I hope that by the end of this year, they all believe in themselves the same way that I do. I want each student to feel confident and have the faith in themselves to accomplish great things. I set extremely high expectations for my students in both their academics and their behaviors and do not let excuses stand in their way. I look forward to a great year and can not wait to watch each of these young people soar to new heights.
