- The last week in April, CHS seniors will begin bringing home a “SENIORS 2010 –GENERAL INFORMATION” sheet. Please read this carefully for information on graduation, commencement tickets, and other end-of-year activities. Mr. Molina will be visiting with the graduating seniors shortly to discuss those issues outlined on this sheet.
- There is NO SUCH THING AS “SENIOR SKIP DAY” DO NOT believe otherwise.
- Seniors need to sign a release form in the guidance office for their FINAL transcript to be sent to colleges. This is different than the form they signed earlier in the year for scholarships.
- Official Senior check out day is Thursday May 20th. During that day Seniors will take care of all fines, return books, and receive their final grades, etc. Be sure your student checks out of CHS completely. Records or transcripts ARE NOT SENT unless ALL obligations are clear.

Graduation FAQ's
Q. How do I get extra tickets to graduation?
A. We hand out tickets ONLY to seniors (student must show ID to receive tickets). All seniors will be able to pick up twelve tickets beginning May 10th. Everyone must have a ticket (ages newborn to 120) to attend the ceremony. Please do not call the high school asking for tickets. The only way you will be able to get additional tickets is to find a senior who is not going to use his or hers.
Q. Why do we have to have tickets to get in?
A. The state fire code will permit 5500 people in the Events Center. We use tickets to ensure we do not break any fire codes and at the same time allow all seniors to be able to invite as many guests as possible to the ceremony.
Q. What if my senior fails a class?
A. No senior will be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony without meeting all requirements. If the failed class is one needed for graduation, he/she WILL NOT walk on May 22nd. Seniors must also have passed all 6 subtests on the NMHSCE in order to graduate and participate in the ceremony. The school informs parents as soon as possible if there is a problem, but sometimes it is the last minute before we know. There are instances where parents are called on Friday, May 21st and informed that their child will not be walking on Saturday May 22nd because they failed an exam that morning or did not turn in work by the deadline.
Q. If my child is going to make up the work in summer school, can they march anyway?
A. No. He/She is, of course, encouraged to finish his/her work and will get a diploma as soon as all credits are earned. We have students who graduate in July or August. However, any senior who has not completed the work and passed all the required courses by May 20th WILL NOT be marching on May 22nd.
