 ACT and NMHSCE Prep Available On Line to All CHS Students
The Clovis School District has upgraded curriculum and licenses for PLATO software. PLATO allows CHS to meet various student needs in non-traditional ways. Every student is currently able to access ACT Prep curriculum from any computer that has internet access. The procedure is very simple and will prove beneficial if your student is planning to take the ACT test this year.
As well, all sophomores and any student who has not passed all portions of the New Mexico High School Competency Exam have access to preparation curriculum through PLATO. Remember that passing all six subtests of the NMHSCE is required in order to receive a high school diploma in New Mexico. Therefore, it would be very helpful for students to be familiar with the content on the NMHSCE.
Any student that desires to use either or both of these tools to increase his/her achievement should contact Pam Cornelison (pcornelison@clovis-schools.org) in the Guidance Office or Mitzi Estes (mestes@clovis-schools.org) in the Assistant Principals’ office to get their user name and password.
Graduation May 17th, 2009 @ 2:00 PM
Graduation will continue to be “First Come-First Served.” Seats will not be saved and this will be STRICTLY ENFORCED. If you are arriving early, so that you can sit in a lower section chair-back seat, you must move to the end of the row. We will not allow any spaces in the chair-back sections as people enter the gym. At this time, we believe each graduate will receive 5 graduation tickets (subject to change). For your convenience the graduation program will be live on a large screen at Marshall Auditorium at NO CHARGE and NO TICKETS are needed. You may view the graduation ceremony online. The website address has not been determined at this time. Graduates must dress appropriately; NO JEANS, NO TENNIS SHOES, and NO SHORTS!
BACCALAUREATE
There will not be a Baccalaureate service at Clovis High School. |
