A New Mexico Highlands Representative – will be on campus on Tuesday March 2nd, 2010 at 11:00am. If you would like to visit with this representative, sign up in Guidance

A University of New Mexico Representative – will be on campus on Friday March 5th, 2010 at 11:00am. If you would like to visit with this representative, sign up in Guidance.

The University of New Mexico  - is taking applications for the Interdisciplinary Film & Digital Media (IFDM) program. Students interested in gaming, engineering, animation, web design, or film/video should fill out an application to UNM and an online application to the IFDM program at www.finearts.unm/ifdm  Deadline:  March 15, 2010.

The Hamilton Relay Scholarship – is offering a $500.00 scholarship to high school seniors who are deaf, hard of hearing or speech disabled. See Mrs. Penland in Guidance for an application. Deadline: March 31, 2010.

The LLAVE Scholarship – is a need-based scholarship that has been formed to assist students in meeting their educational goals. Applicants must be New Mexico residents, full-time students at an accredited college, university, community college, or vocational school, and must have a 2.0 GPA. Applications are available at www.llave-nm.org, by calling LLAVE at 1-505-241-4293, or see Mrs. Penland in Guidance.
Deadline:  March 19, 2010.

Eastern New Mexico University – is offering up to $10,000.00 in scholarships to science, technology, engineering, and math majors. Students must have a 3.0 GPA or score 22 or higher on the ACT Composite, ACT Math Subscore, or ACT Science Subscore. Be a US citizen, national, refugee, or permanent resident, demonstrate financial need, and be enrolled at ENMU in one of the disciplines listed above. 575-562-2522. Deadline: June 15, 2010.

The New Mexico Association of School Business Officials – will award seven to ten $1,500.00 scholarships to qualifying seniors throughout the state of New Mexico. See Mrs. Penland in Guidance for an application. Deadline: March 15, 2010.

The New Mexico Engineering Foundation – is offering scholarships to graduating seniors who plan to pursue degrees in engineering, math or science. Applications are available on line at www.nmef.netDeadline:  March 1, 2010.

The Curry County Farm and Livestock Bureau Scholarship – is for curry county students. Agriculture or Home Economic majors and students attending a New Mexico University or trade school will be given preference. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline: April 1, 2010.
The Clovis High School Boys Soccer Booster Club – is offering a scholarship to senior soccer players with a 3.0 GPA. Applications are available in Guidance.
Deadline: April 15, 2010.

The Altrusa Club of Clovis – is offering a scholarship to graduating seniors who attend an accredited college or university in the fall of 2010. Applications are available in Guidance. Deadline:  March 31, 2010.

Student View/Student Insights – is sponsoring a scholarship contest for high school seniors. Log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about college in the local area. Deadline:  April 22, 2010.

Albuquerque Community Foundation – has 12 scholarship and financial aid programs to help New Mexico students continue their college education. Application information and eligibility deadlines for each program are posted at albuquerquefoundation.org.

The Cannon Air Force Base Spouses’ Club – is offering a scholarship to military dependents whose active duty sponsor is stationed or affiliated with Cannon Air Force Base, whose family is residing in the local area, or whose sponsor is retired, POW/MIA, or deceased USAF personnel. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, and be involved in extra-curricular and community activities. Applications are available in Guidance.
 Deadline:  March 31, 2010.

America’s Milk Processors and USA Today – are allowing any senior student or parent to nominate themselves for the “Scholar Athlete Milk Mustache of the Year Scholarship Program.” Judging is based on academic performance, athletic excellence, leadership, community service, and milk experience. Log on to bodybymilk.com.
Deadline:  March 5, 2010.

University and College Information Sheet

West Texas A & M, Canyon Texas - Discover WT is November 14. This FREE preview event is a great opportunity for juniors and seniors to get a taste of campus life at WTAMU. For more information, visit www.wtamu.edu/discoverwt, or contact the Office of Admissions at
1-806-651-2020 to make a group reservation. Students will be able to register individually on the Web site soon.  The fall 2010 application to WT is not available. Seniors can now apply to WTAMU for the fall 2010 semester at www.applytexas.org. Please send unofficial transcripts (including TAKS scores, class rank, and ACT or SAT scores) as soon as possible for any of your students applying.  The Early Action Scholarship Deadline for WT is December 1.  Students submitting a scholarship application by December 1 will be notified by February 1 of the scholarship amount they will receive.

New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, New Mexico Aggie Experience is October 10th, 2009, November 7th, 2009, and April 10th, 2010. This FREE event is an opportunity for seniors or juniors to get information on admissions, financial aid, housing and dining, and academics. Students and parents can get a list of activities at aggie-experience.nmsu.edu, call 1-800-662-6678, 1-575-646-3121 or email admissions@nmsu.edu

Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin  - Marquette University, a Catholic, Jesuit university, is accepting applications online at Marquette.edu/explore or Marquette.edu/honors if interested in the Honors Program.  The ACT with the Writing or the SAT is necessary for admission. Apply for scholarships at Marquette.edu/scholarships. To arrange a visit to Marquette contact the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at 1-414-288-7302 or 1-800-222-6544 or online at Marquette.edu/student/visit. Application deadline:  December 1st, Scholarship Deadline: February 15th.

Washington University, St Louis, Missouri Washington University is accepting applications at www.commonapp.org and the Pre-Application Data Sheet at admissions.wustl.edu. Students must submit a common application or the Universal College Application with the Pre-Application Data Sheet/Supplement for Undergraduate Admission in 2010. To schedule a visit to the campus contact the Campus Visit Coordinators by phone at 1-800-638-0700 or 1-314-935-6000 or online at visit.wustl.edu. They will accept either the ACT or the SAT but the latest scores accepted will be the December 2009 tests. Application Deadline is January 15th, 2010.

The University of San Francisco, San Francisco, California -  USF, a Catholic Jesuit university, is accepting applications at www.usfcs.edu/acadserv/admission or common applications at www.commonapp.org. To schedule a campus visit go to www.usfcs.edu/visit or call the Office of Admissions at 1-415-422-6563. Early Action Deadline is November 15th, 2009 and Regular Action Deadline is January 15th, 2010.

Barnard University, New York, New York – Barnard, University, a private liberal arts college for women, is accepting applications. To visit the college or find out more information about Barnard, go online at www.barnard.edu.

Wellesley College, Wellesley, Massachusetts – Discover Wellesley Weekend October 18th through October 19th. This is an opportunity for students to attend student-led campus tours, panel discussions, information sessions led by admission and financial aid counselors, classes, and to take part in cultural events, spend the night in a dorm, and connect with faculty, students, and alumnae. Bates College, Lewiston, Maine – Bates College is accepting applications for the 2010-2011 academic school year. Students can obtain more information by contacting the geographic dean for New Mexico, Leigh Weisenburger, lweisenb@bates..edu or at www.bates.edu or call the admissions office at 1-207-786-6000.

University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana – Students interested in attending The University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame Indiana can complete a Common Application at commonapp.org and the Notre Dame Supplemental forms at admissions.nd.edu. Early Action Deadline: November 1st, 2009. Regular Action Deadline: December 31st, 2009. Financial Aid Deadline: February 15th, 2010.

Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania  - Students interested in attending Lehigh University can obtain more information by logging on to their website at lehigh.edu/apply. Early Decision I Deadline: November 15th, 2009. Early Decision II Deadline: January 1st, 2010. Regular Decision Deadline: January 1st, 2010. Seven-Year BA/MD Program Deadline: November 15th, 2010.

Winthrop University, Rock Hill, South Carolina – Students interested in attending Winthrop University can obtain more information by logging on to their website at www.winthrop.edu/apply, Admission Deadline: May 1st, 2010. Scholarship Deadline: January 15th, 2010.

Soka University of America, Aliso Viejo, California – Students interested in attending Soka University can obtain more information at www.soka.edu. Applications are available at admissions@soka.edu or call 1-888-600-soka. Early Action Deadline: October 15th, 2009. Regular Admission Deadline:  January 15th, 2010.

Luna Community College, Las Vegas, New Mexico – Students interested in attending Luna Community College can obtain more information at 1-505-454-2541.

Kalamazoo College, Kalamazoo, Michigan Students interested in attending Kalamazoo College can apply at www.commonapp.org. Early Decision Deadline: November 11th, 2009. Early Action Deadline: November 20, 2009. Regular Decision Deadline: February 1st, 2010.
