Grade Point Average and Rank in Class

Clovis Schools calculate grade average and rank-in-class for all students at each grade level, grades 9-12. Ninth grade is calculated and ranked separately in each junior high. In the tenth grade, all students are combined, recalculated, and re-ranked from the first through seventh terms. Grade point average and rank-in-class are a pat of each student's permanent record and are on all transcripts. Grades from all courses that count toward graduation are averaged except those graded pass/fail or satisfactory/unsatisfactory.

Grade point averages are figured on a four-point scale with A=4, B=3, C=2, D=1, and F=0. Advanced Placement (A.P.) and Honors classes will have the following grade weights: A=5, B=4, C's and D's will not be weighted.
