Academy of Arts at Bella Vista

September 2016

Dear Highland Parents,

Wow we are already in the 4th week of school! Please sign up with your child’s teacher for Parent Teacher Conference on Sept 14th.

The results of our PARCC testing are in and has been sent home with our 3rd -5th grade students. Our school grade for this year has also been released. Highland did go down to a D. The great news is our reading proficiency more than double! However our math proficiency went down.

We have already put a plan in place on how to increase student math proficiency. Teachers started the year with math interventions in place for struggling students. We also have math practice in the Cafeteria each morning, as well as extra computer lab sessions available for students to complete. We will also be hosting a Family Math Night in November.

Your children receive the best education possible from our dedicated Highland Elementary teachers. However, we need your help, please stress the importance of completing assignments and being on task during instruction time.

We value your enthusiasm, support and involvement in the educational process of your children. Together we can achieve wonderful things.
