| Dear Highland Parents,
We have a lot going on at Highland in November and December.
Many grades will be taking educational field trips to increase their learning opportunities. These trips have to meet State Standards and Benchmarks for their grade level.
We will be doing a canned food drive from Nov 4th – Nov 18th. The canned food will be donated to the Food Bank to help families during the Holiday season. If you would like to help with that you can send canned food with your child. The classroom that collects the most canned food will receive a pizza party.
Family Math Night is Nov 15th starting at 6:00 and ending at 7:00. Families can choose between a wide variety of fun math activities that can used at home to help your children have a better understanding of math concepts.
Science Fair projects are due Nov 16th. 3rd – 5th grade students will do a project on their own. Teachers have already discussed the procedures with their students and science fair boards have been sent home. Kindergarten – 2nd grade will do a class projects in their classroom as a whole group.
Nov 21st we will be honoring our military at our Character Assembly. We are asking all students and staff to wear Red White and Blue on this day to show our support for the men and women who serve in the military.
Dec Holiday programs will be coming up, we will send out more information on that, as it gets closer.
We take the safety of all the children seriously. We understand that sometimes circumstances arise where you need someone to pick up your children, however if that person is not on their signature card we are not supposed to release them. Please make sure people who will be picking your child up is on their signature card.
As the weather gets cooler I just want to remind everyone that we DO NOT open our doors until 7:30 and there is NO adult supervision until this time each morning. Please do not bring your children earlier or allow them to walk earlier then this time. Classes begin at 8:00 a.m., students are tardy after this time. Starting.
Thank you so much for your help!
