Hello, my name is Dr. Sylvia Martinez, I am the principal of La Casita Elementary, a Dual Language Magnet School. Our Dual Language Program is a strong academic program that focuses on development of literacy in two languages (English and Spanish). Native English speakers and non-native English speakers participate and are integrated in the same classroom. Instruction in all content areas is initially presented 90% in Spanish and 10% in English at the Kindergarten level. English will be phased in until the amount of English instruction is equal to that of Spanish (this will occur in upper grades).

We are proud to offer all students in the Clovis community the opportunity to learn Spanish as well as assisting all students to achieve academically in English.
