Welcome to Lockwood Elementary. It is a great honor to work with you and your children on a daily basis. I am very pleased to be working at Lockwood for the second year. After a wonderful start here, at Lockwood last year, I am very excited about the work we will be doing together this year.

We are very fortunate to have Dr. Sylvia Martinez working with us as our Educational Coach / Assistant Principal. Dr. Martinez has been in the classroom for 23 years and will be supporting our staff with instructional support and will also be here to assist you in any way possible.

This year our instructional focus will be on reading and math. We have been working with staff to reorganize schedules to give math and reading the importance that it deserves. With the hard work that are teachers are doing and your support, we are sure to have a successful year, and more importantly you will be able to see growth in these areas with your individual students.

We will continue to involve you in the educational process of your children by keeping you informed of student progress, and by offering evening events to give you ideas to help your students. Parents are a child’s first teacher.
