Hello and welcome to the Gold Room at Los Ninos! My name is Tauna Rogers and I recently transferred to Los Ninos from Sandia Elementary. I am very excited that a new door of opportunity has opened for me to work with preschoolers at Los Ninos!

I have 12 years experience as a special education resource room teacher. Typically I have served chldren ranging from kindergarten to fourth grade. I have a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from ENMU and Licensure in Special Education (K-12) and Elementary Education (K-8).

My philosophy of teaching is that in order to lay a foundation for positive and lasting attitudes toward learning, I must first help each child perceive that they are valued and respected as individuals. Each child has their own unique strengths, gifts, and needs. Children develop and learn best when they are involved in developmentally appropriate activities in an environment where they feel safe and secure. I seek to promote a non-threatening and caring environment where children understand that mistakes are ok (we all make them!) because we can learn from them in a positive way.
