Mesa Website! We are glad you wanted to visit us and find out more about our amazing school. Mesa Elementary School is a terra cotta clustered structure in Clovis, New Mexico, a town of 35,000. Rich farm land was the site chosen in 1991 for the school that began with a community based population of 400, blossomed a year later to over 630, when Cannon Air Force Base completed an extensive off base housing unit adjacent to the school, and currently has leveled to a count of 485. Mesa has met the challenge of blending the diverse backgrounds and experiences of military, rural, foreign, and community children into a united, nurturing climate. As you browse our site, be sure to look at “Mesa in a Nutshell” for a summary of what our school is all about. You will be able to look at our site plan, test scores, and understand why we are a National Blue Ribbon School. You will also appreciate why we believe our students are “smart in many ways” and “Character Counts!” An exciting new venture is “Wild Horse Radio”. Students are learning to do podcasts and vodcasts about a variety of subjects. This is an excellent way for students to illustrate their writing, reading, and speaking skills and to do performances for understanding. Be sure to “tune in” while you are visiting our site.
