Library Resources and Library Use Guidelines
Marshall Middle School library holdings include over 11,000 books. About
5,000 are fiction and 6,000 are nonfiction titles.
Guidelines
- Students may check out 2 Books at any given time. Books are checked out for
a two-week period.
- To renew a book, just bring the book to the library to be re-scanned. There
is a .10 fine per day per book for late books.
- You may place returned books in the book drop at the circulation desk in the
library.
- If a book is damaged or late please hand the book to the librarian. If a
book has been damaged, there will be a minimum fee of $1.00. The actual
amount may be higher depending on the amount and type of damage.
- If you lose a book, you are responsible for the cost of the book plus any
overdue fines that have accrued.
- Please keep voices low so that we can maintain an effective learning
environment.
- No food, gum, drinks allowed in the library.
- You must have a signed pass if you come without your teacher. Please sign
the Sign-in sheet at the corner of the Circulation Desk.
On-Line Databases
Access hundreds of journal and newspaper articles by searching the
InfoTrac database web site. The site includes databases specifically designed for elementary school, middle school and high school students. It also includes a database in Spanish, specialty databases covering such topics as the education profession and health and wellness, as well as other useful databases. Ask your librarian for the password to access this site.
