NMSBA is this month!

New Mexico Standards Based Assessment (NMSBA) will be March 29-April 7 in grades 3-6. Please make all appointments that your child may need to attend after these dates. During this time it is vital that your child be at school on time and ready for testing. As you know this test is very important part of our AYP criteria. The teachers are continuing to work very diligently to have their students prepared for this high stakes testing. With this in mind, we continue to ask for your assistance in having your child/children here for the full day. Instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. and continues until 3:00 p.m. We have intervention times at the end of the day to give students more one-on-one assistance with their studies. With these interventions at the end of the day we highly discourage student early departure, they would miss some very important instructional time.

Please continue to help us by getting your child at school on time. Remember if it is 8:00 your late. Breakfast is 7:30 to 7:50 if your child enters at 7:50 they will be asked to go to their classroom. Students are released at 3:00 p.m. if students do not ride a bus or go to a specific rally point, students are to be picked up on 13th street.

Parkview Elementary is continuing to need parent support. PAC is a group of parents that meet once a month at 5:15 p.m. to discuss how they can support the school and students at Parkview Elementary. This time is also used to answer questions that parents may have about Parkview Elementary. We welcome every parent to come and be involved in the students here at the school. The next PAC meeting is Monday, March 1st at 5:15 p.m. please come and share ideas that you may have. The PACs most recent fundraiser was the Balloon- A –Gram at Valentines and it was very successful. The total amount raised was $802.64. Thank you for supporting Parkview Elementary PAC and the students.
