Sick Leave Bank
All employees fill out a form to indicate whether or not you want to be a member of the Sick Leave Bank. If you DO want to become a member, you contribute one (1) of your allocated/earned sick days to the Bank. This contribution entitles you to APPLY for additional Sick Leave Days if you or an immediate family member is seriously ill or injured. A Sick Leave Bank Committee considers your request and makes a decision on whether or not you will be granted any days from the Sick Leave Bank. The complete policy can be accessed on the District Web Site in CMS Board Policy G-3100. If you want to be a member of the Sick Leave Bank, you must elect to do so before October 1 of the school year that your membership in the bank becomes effective. All employees who are not current members of the Sick Leave Bank (including newly hired staff) have an opportunity to become a member on October 1st of each school year. You must have at least one day of accrued Sick Leave at the end of the workday on September 30th (or nearest previous work day) to have a day to contribute and join. Employees hired after September 30 of the school year are not eligible to join until the next succeeding school year. All employees who have joined the Sick Leave Bank will continue to be a member as long as they are continuing to be an employee. (If there is a break in their employment, they will have to become eligible and choose to rejoin the Sick Leave Bank.)
