Ranchvale Elementary School has received results on lead and copper testing of the well water at five different locations throughout the building and we're again happy to report that our water is safe to use and drink.

A copy of the report is posted at each test site and is also available on the school website.

Welcome back for the 2013-14 school year! I am so honored to have the privilege to return as your principal and am eager to see familiar faces and meet those of you who are new to our school. Below is important information about the beginning of the year that you’ll want to keep in mind:

Office hours at the school are 8-4 p.m., Monday-Thursday through August 8th. The following week we will resume normal hours of 7:30-4, Monday-Friday.

The office will be CLOSED on Friday, August 16th until 2:00 p.m. due to a district meeting that will include the entire Ranchvale staff.

• Registration for new students begins on August 1. Required documents include: shot records, birth certificate, social security card, and proof of residence.

• We will host a “Meet Your Teacher” hour on the afternoon of Thursday, August 15th from 4-5 p.m. only.

Class lists will be posted on this day, and students will have an opportunity to bring their school supplies in, locate their classroom, and meet their teacher for the upcoming year.

Please keep in mind this event will last only for the scheduled hour.

• Ranchvale’s Open House event will take place on Thursday, September 5th from 5:30-6:45 p.m.

This is a very important evening to come hear a presentation from your child’s/children’s teacher(s) about instructional focus areas for the year, classroom expectations, etc.

We will begin with a general session in the gym and then will have classroom sessions. You will have the opportunity to visit more than one classroom on this evening.

• Once again, we will be having a Volunteer Drive to solicit helpers for a variety of events and tasks at our school.

Please be on the lookout for sign-up posters in the building. We also are eager to continue to build our PAC (Parent Advisory Committee) this year.

Information will be shared soon about how you can participate on this committee.

As always, we are looking forward to partnering with you to create a successful year of learning for our tremendous Ranchvale students! We will see you soon!!
