Carlton Lewis

Dr. Carlton Lewis, a veteran employee of more than two decades, has been offered and accepted the position of Director of Mental Health for Clovis Municipal Schools.

Serving as a school psychologist since 2022, Lewis first began his work with the schools in 2003, when he was hired as a Behavior Assistant.

In 2007, Lewis transitioned to a school counselor, a position he held until 2013, when he was selected for the role of Mental Health Counselor. Lewis served in that capacity for nearly 10 years until his most recent appointment as school psychologist.

Throughout his time with Clovis Schools, Lewis has also worked in the mental health field in the community, providing clinical services through partnership with local providers until 2010, when he launched a private practice in Clovis. Through his private practice, Lewis provides ongoing counseling and consulting services to members of the community.

Lewis holds a doctorate of philosophy in clinical psychology from Walden University, and a master of arts in counseling, and a bachelor of science from Eastern New Mexico University.

The position was created as part of a larger effort to increase mental health services and supports for the district. Lewis will begin in his new role over the summer in preparation for the start of school in August.

CONGRATULATIONS DR. LEWIS!
