FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
May 5, 2025
Clovis, N.M. - Clovis High School is proud to announce that three of its students - Avery Linn, Guadalupe Anchondo, and Liana Loucks - have been selected to participate in the 2025 Rural Opportunities for College Access New Mexico (ROCA NM) program. This competitive, four-day residential workshop is designed to support rural, first-generation college-bound students as they navigate the college search and application process.
Hosted on a New Mexico college campus from July 23-26, ROCA NM offers students the opportunity to engage with college access professionals and representatives from institutions across the country. Participants will attend workshops on financial aid, essay writing, and college selection, while also experiencing campus life by staying in dormitories and dining in college cafeterias.
ROCA NM, launched in 2021 through a partnership between Northern New Mexico College, the Davis New Mexico Scholarship, and the Los Alamos National Laboratory Foundation, aims to bridge the gap to college for students from rural communities. Participants who complete the program become eligible to apply for the Davis New Mexico Scholarship, which covers the full cost of attendance at one of six out-of-state partner colleges.
