CLOVIS, NM – Clovis Municipal Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Aimee Hilburn as the new Head Girls Basketball Coach for Clovis High School. A graduate of CHS and former Lady Wildcat herself, Hilburn brings a deep connection to the program she now leads, both as a student-athlete and as a coach.

Hilburn was a proud member of the Lady Wildcats basketball team that brought home the New Mexico state championship in 2005. She went on to play collegiate basketball at Texas State University, competing as a Division I student-athlete from 2006 to 2010. Now, two decades later, she returns to lead the program that helped shape her athletic journey.

Since 2022, Hilburn has served as the assistant varsity girls basketball coach at Clovis High School, where she has been known for building positive team culture, mentoring student-athletes, and fostering an inclusive environment. She is also a teacher with Clovis Municipal Schools and holds a bachelor’s degree from Eastern New Mexico University.

Her return to the sidelines as head coach is especially meaningful, as she is deeply rooted in the Clovis community.

“On the court, we learn teamwork. At home, we learn love. In the community, we find purpose. Basketball isn't just a game — it's a bond that unites hearts, families, and neighborhoods,” said Coach Hilburn.

In addition to her work in education and athletics, Hilburn volunteers as a soccer coach and administrator for Clovis Youth Soccer Association and has been active in local animal fostering efforts since 2017.

Coach Hilburn is eager to build a program that not only competes at the highest level but also reflects the values and pride of Clovis High School.
