Clovis Municipal Schools Names Cory Gropp as Athletics Director
CLOVIS, NM — Clovis Municipal Schools is proud to announce the hiring of Cory Gropp as the district’s new Athletics Director.
Gropp brings 17 years of experience in education, athletics, and leadership to Clovis Municipal Schools. Throughout his career, he has served in a variety of roles focused on student achievement, program development, and building strong school and athletic cultures.
Most recently, Gropp has served as Assistant Principal at Clovis High School Freshman Academy. Prior to this, Mr. Gropp was the High School Principal/Athletic Director at Cobre High School, where the district earned four state championships within two years under his leadership. He has also previously served as Athletic Director at Aztec Municipal School District and as Career and Technical Education (CTE) Director at Mexia High School.
Gropp earned his Bachelor of Education degree from West Texas A&M University and his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Angelo State University.

As Athletics Director, Gropp will oversee district athletic programs, support coaches and student-athletes, and continue building a culture of excellence across Clovis Municipal Schools athletics.
