This past weekend, the Clovis Bassmasters, an affiliate club of NM Bass Nation took to Ute Lake in their inaugural season.

All boaters were on the water by 5am and launched by 5:30 am. They fished strong and kept their heads down; it was a grind. All boaters reported to weigh in at noon with great success.

In the High School division Greg Cordova and Colter Williams took first place along with bringing in the biggest bass of the tournament with Colter’s largemouth bass weighing 4lb 9oz.

Other High School Anglers that placed were Vince Smith and Keegan Kennedy finishing 3rd and Uriel Aleman alongside Fabian Duarte took 4th.

Other anglers that competed were Kash Roberts and Jett Stone.

In the Junior’s division, both Clovis teams placed:

Brayden Spears with Hanna Sage (High Country Youth Anglers) placed 2nd

Logan Shafer and Maxwell Moroney (Rocky Mtn. Bass Anglers) finished with a strong 3rd place.

It was a great start to the season and they are already looking forward to the next qualifier on July 9th where they expect to double the number of anglers that will be representing Clovis.

Clovis Bassmasters is the largest High School/Junior club in the state.
