House Meetings are so fun for everyone and happen once a Month!! The kids get so excited to be around other kids in their house that they may not regularly see on any normal day! This makes the kids feel like they have a family or something they belong too and its neat to see how excited they get seeing other friends in their house. When we have the house meetings the Ambassadors usually have a small slide show that gives a house fact and an etiquette piece for the month. Then they have a team building activity as well as music and house chants. The team building activity had the kids come together to trace their hands to make a huge flag that will be displayed in the hallway all month long!! This month the house meeting also showed our kids the importance of a good handshake and specific parts that matter when executing a proper one.

How to shake hands and greet someone:

When you meet someone new, it’s polite to shake hands and introduce yourself. Here’s how to do it:

  • Stand up straight and face the person.

  • Make eye contact and give a friendly smile.

  • Reach out your right hand and give a gentle, but firm, handshake (not too soft and not too hard, not too short, not too long).

  • Say your name clearly. You can say, “Hi, my name is ___. What is your name?”

  • You can also add a polite greeting, like “Nice to meet you!"
