ALL-CLEAR AT YUCCA MIDDLE SCHOOL AFTER SECURE & TEACH TO INVESTIGATE SECURITY REPORT Shortly after 11 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2024, Yucca Middle School was briefly placed into Secure & Teach to allow for investigation into a report of a possible security concern on campus.  School administrators and law enforcement investigated and did not find the report to be credible, lifting the Secure & Teach.  Regular activity is ongoing as scheduled. An alert was inadvertently issued while staff were engaged in security training at the GC Ross Administration Building Friday afternoon, initiating a preliminary security response.  District security staff immediately issued an alert indicating the notification was a false alarm, reversing the alert status.  Clovis Municipal Schools conducts regular security training with staff to ensure proficiency in the event of an emergency. The events of Friday afternoon were the result of an unfortunate error. COMMUNITY MEETING SET TO REVIEW FACILITIES MASTER PLAN AND PROPOSALS
Clovis High School FCCLA is hosting a car wash Saturday to raise money to compete at nationals – get your car washed and do a good deed!     10AM - 2PM  SATURDAY! April 13  Located at the parking lot between Advance Auto and Arby’s     All proceeds help to fund-raise for nationals in Seattle, Washington.

TALENT SHOW AUDITIONS ARE TODAY & TOMORROW – SEE YOU THERE!  Clovis High School Student Council (StuCo) is hosting a District talent show for Clovis Municipal Schools, in hopes of raising money for StuCo and to showcase all the talent Clovis has!  Initial auditions will be held at Clovis High School Auxiliary gymnasium from 5-7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, April 8 & 9   Open to all students of Clovis Municipal Schools!   All students, all grades are welcome and strongly encouraged to audition.      WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?  Each person will have a maximum of 5 minutes to perform their talent in the  First round. Nothing dangerous so leave your flamethrowers at home!     GROUP ACT?  If your child wants to do a group act, every child will need to have a permission slip that will be provided at the initial audition or you can fill one out beforehand for an easier audition process.  (max people per group: 5)     PERMISSION FORM:  https://tinyurl.com/cms-talent  Fill one out in advance for an easier audition process!      WHAT WILL BE PROVIDED?   Only mics, and if needed, a piano will be provided. (this applies to the initial audition too) if you have an act that requires more, CHS Student Council will work with you!     THE FINAL ROUND:  6 p.m. April 22 and 23  Marshall auditorium   100 Commerce     *YOUR CHILD HAS TO MAKE IT PAST THE INITIAL AUDITIONS TO PROGRESS ON TO THE FINAL ROUND*     WHO’S JUDGING?  CHS student council will be judging the initial auditions to see who will move on to the final round. ALL CLEAR ISSUED AT YUCCA MIDDLE SCHOOL FOLLOWING SECURE AND TEACH TO INVESTIGATE STUDENT COMMENTS  At approximately 1:40 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, law enforcement issued an all clear, lifting Secure and Teach at Yucca Middle School.     The all clear follows a Secure and Teach initiated at approximately 1 p.m. to allow for an investigation concerning comments made by a student. YUCCA MIDDLE SCHOOL PLACED IN SECURE AND TEACH TO INVESTIGATE STUDENT COMMENTS At approximately 1 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024, Yucca Middle School was placed in Secure and Teach to allow for an investigation concerning comments made by a student.  Law enforcement has responded and is investigating in coordination with school administrators.  During a Secure and Teach, all exterior entrances are secured, movement is limited within the building, and instruction continues as scheduled. Clovis High School senior Rebekah Warren is one of 23 New Mexico high school seniors to be named a Daniels Scholar, securing her up to $100,000 in college funding toward an undergraduate degree.     An Early College High School student, Rebekah is on track to graduate from Clovis Community College with an Associate of Applied Science Paralegal and an Associate of General Studies and is expected to graduate with honors from both CCC and CHS.     Rebekah plans to attend Texas Tech University in the fall.     A charitable program established by cable TV pioneer Bill Daniels, when he passed away in March of 2000, Daniels estate transferred to the Daniels Fund, making it one of the largest foundations in the Rocky Mountain region. Among other esteemed qualities, Daniels Scholars are recognized for strength of character, a commitment to ethics and outstanding performance. The Clovis High School Wildcadettes will host a 3-day clinic starting April 22, followed by tryouts for prospective team members on April 24. Clovis High School administrators are working with law enforcement to investigate a written threat found on a wall of the school campus Tuesday, April 2, 2024, shortly before dismissal.  Based upon preliminary investigations, the threat does not appear to be credible, however the investigation is ongoing.  School will be held as scheduled Wednesday. The Clovis Municipal Schools Leadership Team and Facilities Master Planning Committee will present research and findings, during a Work Study Session of the Board of Education, on Tuesday, March 19, 2024.     The purpose of this Work Study Session is to inform the Board of Education of research and findings. As such, members of the public are welcome; however, opportunities for public comment will not be provided during the session.     After the Work Study Session of the Board of Education, presentations will be made to the public during the Regular Meeting of the Board of Education on Tuesday, March 19, 2024, where opportunities will be given for public comment and questions.
