7th grade girl jumping with excitement as she spins a wheel to determine which house she will join

On Friday, August 30, Gattis held it's first House assembly. New students, and students who hadn't previously been sorted, were sorted into their RCA House. Students spun a wheel and were cheered on by the students of each house. After students learned of their house selection, they joined their other house members. After all students were sorted, students took part in their first house game competitions -- Hungry Hungry Hippos and Extreme Rock, Paper, Scissors. Students and faculty alike enjoyed the energy and fun of the afternoon and look forward to more assemblies throughout the year.A male student clasps his hands in a hopeful manner as the wheel spins to determine his RCA house placement.A male student and two cheerleaders lean in to watch as the wheel spins for house selections.A 7th grade student lays on two scooters as an 8th grade student pushes him around to try and collect golf balls in a game of Hungry Hungry Hippos.8th grade history teacher, Danny Kennedy, laughs and enjoys the assembly while wearing a "dragon" costume.
