Students around a tray of bones from an owl pellet.

In 7th grade science students have been learning about the human body systems. This week students participated in a lab activity, where they had the opportunity to dissect an owl pellet. The owl pellets provide students with a hands-on way to explore the skeletal system, and see how different bones are structured. Inside the owl pellets students found a variety of bones, including vole and pocket gopher skulls and teeth.
