Gattis' final 10 Amazing Shake finalists recently traveled to Texas Roadhouse to compete in the etiquette and interview rounds. Students were seated in groups of five with five judges. They were evaluated on how well they answered selected questions and demonstrated their etiquette skills. The students and judges were served a green salad, hot rolls and butter, a bowl of chili, chicken strips and french fries with a glass of ice water. As judges scored the students, the finalists were given a tour of the kitchen to see how things work behind the scenes. Students were given a small trophy, a goodie bag and a bag of Texas Roadhouse peanuts before heading back to school. After arriving at Gattis, the final three were announced. Abby Radziewicz, 7th grade, was the first place finisher. Second place went to eighth grader, Hartley Hamilton, and third place went to seventh grade student Grayson Boerio. These students will now prepare for the upcoming CMS district event that will take place at ENMU on February 4. The students will compete against approximately 40 other students in two rounds. The winner of the district Amazing Shake will then go on to compete in Atlanta.
Special thanks to the Texas Roadhouse who hosted the event for us at no charge. If you visit the restaurant, please make sure to tell management how much you appreciate their support of our school and students.
