Seventh and eighth grade students from Gattis Middle School participated in a National History Day contest at Eastern New Mexico University on February 21. Students participated in various events from Individual Documentary, Individual Exhibit, Individual Website, Individual Performances, Group Documentaries, Group Exhibits, Group Websites and Group Performances. Several Gattis students made it to the next level of competition which will be held on April 11 at Central New Mexico Community College in Albuquerque. If students win top 3 in their category at the state competition, they will qualify for the NHD national competition held June 8ā12, at the University of Maryland, in College Park, Maryland.

Zhaniyah Holback and Yasmin Honorato -- 1st place in group documentary
