Last week, Mrs. Blumer and Mrs. Spears took 7th and 8th grade Gifted and Talented students to NMMI (New Mexico Military Institute) and had students participate in learning, teamwork and leadership skills. Students were able to complete two leadership course events, low ropes, and even got to climb up a rock wall. The cadets gave feedback to students about how well they followed and gave directions to one another and how they could encourage one another to succeed on the courses. The GT students got a tour of the campus and also ate in the dining hall with the cadets. This field trip was funded by a grant awarded by the Clovis Municipal Schools Education Foundation.
