Gattis 8th grade teachers recently selected outstanding students in each of their classes as Students of the Week. This weeks students are:
Science -- Mrs. Adams
Sarahya Wingate
Mrs. Adams said about Sarahya, "I have enjoyed having Sarahya in class this year. She works hard, asks questions, and has a very good understanding of Science.
Math -- Ms. Welch
Juan Chavez
"Juan Chaves was chosen as the Mathematician of the Week due to his incredible work ethic, positivity, willingness to help others that are struggling, and for always being ready to learn and be challenged! He is a fantastic student athlete here at Gattis!"
Mr. Adams -- History
Kaliannah Sanchez
"I chose Kaliannah Sanchez as my student of the week because she is respectful, diligent with her work, and always brings a positive attitude to class. She is consistently attentive and engaged in learning, setting a great example for others to follow. I am so happy to be her teacher!"
Mrs. Del Toro -- English
Adrian Carvajal
Mrs. Del Toro stated that Adrian is very respectful, maintains a positive attitude, works hard and always seems to wear a smile. He definitely exemplifies what a student of the week should look like and act like. I'm so happy to have Adrian in class this year.
Ms. Schumaker -- English
Elizabeth Stockstill
Even though it has been a short time, I have found Elizabeth to be a dedicated 8th grader who leads by example, consistently demonstrates kindness, works hard in all subjects, and inspires her peers through positivity. Plus, her outfits are adorable.
Mrs. Trujillo -- Math

" I chose Aydin because he is constantly going above and beyond to participate in class. He frequently asks questions and pays attention. Aydin goes above and beyond to be a leader in the classroom! "
Ms. Granillo -- Science
Raegen Ramsey
Ms. Granillo stated, "Raegan is kind, considerate, and always willing to help whenever the opportunity arises. She works hard and sets high expectations for herself and those around her. I admire her passion for growth and success in all areas of her life. Raegan is not only a dedicated science student but also a talented athlete and a wonderful friend.
