The Clovis Girls' team won the District Cross Country Meet yesterday. All the girls ran well and beat the other teams by a landslide. We had six of our nine runners in the top 10 of the race. We had four girls placed on the 1st Team All-District and two girls placed on the 2nd Team All-District. This is the third year in a row that the girls have won the district meet.
The boys also performed well, but lost by three points to Hobbs. It was a nail-biting race. One of our top runners called out sick the day before District and was unable to run. Hopefully, we can get him healthy by the State meet and beat Hobbs. We had two boys placed on the 1st Team All District and one placed on the 2nd Team All District.
Both teams qualified to run at the State Championship at Albuquerque Academy next Saturday. It is going to be an exciting race!
Girls are currently ranked 2nd behind Cleveland. We have a faster overall team average but our splits are longer so the race will come down to our number 4,5, and 6 runner at State.
