Registration Update
First, I want to say thank you for your patience this past week as we worked through some technology issues while getting our students registered for the 2026-2027 school year. We know these technical hurdles can be frustrating, and we appreciate your support as we navigated them. For any students who missed out on the registration window this past week due to these issues or absences, please don't worry— we will be working through those registrations this week to ensure every student is squared away for next year.
The Importance of Attendance
As we enter the final stretch of the school year, we want to emphasize that attendance is more important than ever. With State Testing Week (April 13th – 17th) quickly approaching, every instructional minute counts.
National data and our own campus trends show a direct correlation between consistent attendance and academic success:
Academic Momentum: Students who attend school regularly are 60% more likely to score "Proficient" or "Advanced" on state assessments compared to students who are chronically absent.
The "Power of Presence": Research shows that missing just two days a month can cause a student to fall behind in reading and math.
Confidence Building: Consistent attendance reduces testing anxiety. When students are present for the daily practice, they walk into testing week feeling prepared rather than overwhelmed.
Thank you for your partnership in ensuring your student is at school and on time every day!
We want to give a massive SHOUT-OUT to Grayson Boerio! Grayson traveled to represent Gattis Middle School and CMS this past weekend in the Global Amazing Shake competition. We are incredibly proud of his leadership, professionalism, and the "grit" he showed while competing on a global stage. Way to go, Grayson!
