Set to begin her first year as an Educator Fellow and her fourth year with the district, Clovis Municipal Schools’ Celeste Chavez, has been selected for and accepted the position of head softball coach at Clovis High School (CHS).
Named an assistant coach in 2023-2024, Chavez will now lead the CHS Wildcat softball team.
Chavez began her work with the district in 2021, when she was hired as a long-term substitute. In 2022, Chavez was selected to serve as a physical education, educational assistant, and then in 2023-2024 she transferred to the role of behavior interventionist, a position she held until her selection for the Educator Fellowship program.
In addition to her work with Clovis Schools, Chavez has served as a fast pitch official umpire, and volunteered with league and school teams since her youth.
A Clovis High School graduate and Wildcat softball player herself, Chavez holds an associate’s degree in physical education from Pratt Community College.
