Mesa First Graders LOVE Math!

Last fall, Mesa first-grade teacher, Ferryn Sharp attended the Ron Clark Academy in Atlanta, Georgia. As a result, her first-graders are LOVING their math lessons and the testing results are nothing less than impressive!

"Students standing and presenting their responses to their peers, as we observed at RCA, has been an amazing inclusion in our lessons here at Mesa. Students are held accountable for their accurate responses made in complete sentences and utilizing academic vocabulary. Student-to-student discourse is a frequent occurrence - students show one another agreement or disagreement; then we have enriched discussions which help tremendously in addressing misconceptions." says Mrs. Sharp.
