Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,

Welcome to Marshall 6th Grade Academy!  We are excited your child will be attending our school this year.  Please note the information below that will assist you with Schedule Pickup (July 29th and 30th).  Ensure you mark your calendars for the first day of school which is Thursday, August 8th. Also, attached are pictures of designated areas for student drop off and pick up each day.  

Schedule Pickup - July 29 and 30 (9:00am to 2:00pm) - PLEASE BRING CHROMEBOOK and STUDENT with you. This process should take approximately 30 minutes, if you have completed the Skyward Reverification Process).  This process is important for us to get an accurate inventory of student chromebooks. All students will get a new chromebook for the 24/25 school year.  During this day, you will go through stations that will ensure your student gets their schedule on that day.  You will be signing off  on your Skyward Verification, Nurse Shot Records, Chromebook Inventory/Repair if needed, ID picture taken, and we will also have our Family Services, La Casa Dental, and TRIO (ENMU organization that helps students for college readiness) here to get you signed up for the great services they offer. 

School Wide Meet and Greet - August 7th - 5:30pm to 6:30pm - Parents will be able to stop by their child’s classrooms and meet their teachers and also have the opportunity to meet their Exploratory Teachers.  This is a come and go, self-guided activity.  You will enter through our secure office entrance as you come into the school.  You will have the opportunity to sign up for the TRIO program, which can help support your child academically and socially throughout the school year.  We will have copies of student schedules if you do not have one with you or have not picked it up yet. 

First Day of School Info:  We are glad to see all of our parents and students, but please understand that you will not be able to walk students to class, the inside of our gates and doors are secured locations and for security reasons parents will not be allowed inside the building or fenced in areas. 

Open House and Parent Night- August 27- 5:30-6:30. We will have various PARENT/Student workshops to help you with various procedures around our school. (House Systems, Skyward, Volunteering, IXL/SEL,)

STUDENT PICK UP and DROP OFF - Due to Road Construction on Commerce Way starting on July 22nd.  Our Student Pick up and Drop off will be impacted for possibly the first month of school.  I would suggest the First Christian Church Parking lot (See picture below) or Lowe’s Grocery Store Parking Lot (See picture below).  We will have staff working all of the crosswalks on the West Side of Marshall’s building, along Main Street.  PLEASE DO NOT DROP YOUR STUDENT OFF ON MAIN STREET Sidewalk, this is a safety issue and traffic flow issue.
