Clovis Choirs Shine at State Contest - Yucca Middle School Named State Champions

CLOVIS, NM - On April 4-5, four choirs from Clovis Municipal Schools participated in the NMAA State Choir Contest at Cleveland High School in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. The event brought together choral groups from across the state to compete in various categories, and Clovis students earned recognition for their strong performances.

This year marked the first time any Clovis middle school has participated in the NMAA State Choir Contest. Both Gattis and Yucca Middle Schools represented the district well - placing in the top three of the Middle School Choir category. Yucca’s Varsity Treble Choir was named State Champion.

Results:

  • Yucca Middle School Varsity Treble Choir - 1st Place (Middle School Choir) - State Champions

  • Gattis Middle School Varsity Treble Choir - 3rd Place (Middle School Choir)

  • CHS Women’s Select Choir - 3rd Place (1A-5A Treble Choir)

  • CHS Chamber Choir - 5th Place (5A Mixed Choir)

These accomplishments reflect the dedication of Clovis choir students and the guidance of their directors.
