CLOVIS, N.M.- Clovis Municipal Schools is proud to announce the appointment of Nicholas Williams Jr. as its new Athletics Director, effective Friday, April 25, 2025. With more than 16 years of experience in education, athletics, and school administration, Mr. Williams brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership, and passion to the districtās athletic programs.
He was named one of the Best First-Year Coaches in Texas High School Football by Dave Campbellās Texas Football for improving scoring defense in PAPG from 2021 to 2022 and was also recognized as the Texas Football Week 3 2A Coach of the Week. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Mr. Williams currently serves as Assistant Principal at Charlie Y. Brown High School in Bloomfield, New Mexico, where he also coordinates dual credit programs and serves as recruiting coordinator and assistant football coach.

Mr. Williams holds multiple teaching and administrative certifications in both New Mexico and Texas, along with Level 3 endorsements in Social Studies, Physical Education, Health Education, and School Administration. He has a masterās degree in Education, Curriculum, and Instruction. He is also a doctoral candidate in Organizational Leadership, expected to complete his dissertation in Spring 2026.
Throughout his career, Mr. Williams has served as a classroom teacher, college and high school coach, principal, district administrator, and athletic director. His 90-day transition plan includes meeting with coaches at all levels, assessing facilities, and launching a āState of the Athletic Departmentā address to outline new goals and community initiatives. He is especially passionate about the "Heroes in the Community" program, which pairs student-athletes with elementary schools to promote literacy and civic engagement.
