There will be no school for students on Friday, March 14, 2025. This will be a data day for staff. District offices will be open. There will be no school on March 17-21, 2025. All district offices will be closed for Spring Break. Advanced meals for Spring Break will be available for pick-up on Wednesday, March 12. The Legends Tournament is happening in Clovis, NM, on April 26-27. Divisions: 7th-8th Boys 9th Boys JV Boys Varsity Boys $250 per team with a three-game guarantee. All area teams are invited to join. Alumni will be celebrated with a breakfast on April 26 at 8 a.m., followed by a three-point contest, skills contest, and a draft-style alumni game. Alumni should register individually using the QR code in the flyer.

Friday, March 14, 2025 will be a Data Day. A previous version of the calendar listed this day as a Parent-Teacher Conference Day. There will be no school for students on this day; however, teachers and staff will be working and administrative offices will remain open. While there are no scheduled parent-teacher conferences on March 14, parents who wish to meet with their child's teacher are encouraged to reach out directly to schedule a conference at a mutually convenient time. Lockwood Early Childhood Center will be holding parent-teacher conferences for their 3Y and 4Y classes on March 14th. It's basketball playoff season. Come on out and support our teams. The Wildcats will travel to Carlsbad on Tuesday, February 25 in round one of district playoffs. Game begins at 5:30. Our Lady Wildcats will be playing this Thursday, February 27, at the Rock at 6:00 PM. Tickets are $7. Everyone, including faculty and staff, must purchase a ticket to gain entrance. Reserved seat holders will maintain their seats, but will have to pay the admission of $7.00 to attend the game. Come on out and support our teams!

**UPDATE, As of 9:54 AM power has been restored at Barry, Highland and Sandia.** Power outages are currently affecting Barry Elementary, Sandia Elementary, and Highland Elementary as of 8 a.m. on Feb. 12,2025. Crews are working to restore service, but no estimated time for restoration is available. Breakfast has been served and instruction will continue. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Marshall Sixth Grade Academy has been moved into Secure and Move mode in response to concerning social media comments made by a student. There will be a police presence at Marshall, but regular school dismissal procedures will be followed. ORIGINAL MESSAGE: At approximately 2:55 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, Marshall 6th Grade Academy was placed in Secure and Move to allow for an investigation concerning social media comments made by a student. Law enforcement has responded and is investigating in coordination with school administrators. During a Secure and Move, all exterior entrances are secured, movement is limited within the building, and instruction continues as scheduled.
