September 4, 2026 — At approximately noon today, a fire alarm was activated at W.D. Gattis Middle School. All students and staff were safely evacuated as a precaution. The fire department responded and determined there was no fire. Students and staff have returned to the building, and instruction has resumed as scheduled.

September 2, 2026 - Earlier today, W.D. Gattis Middle School administrators investigated reports of a possible weapon on campus after rumors circulated among students and on social media. Law enforcement was notified through our district’s School Resource Officer. No weapon was found, and there is no evidence of a threat to the campus at this time. We understand these reports can cause concern, and we appreciate everyone who promptly shared information so it could be addressed.

August 28, 2026 - At approximately 12:20 p.m. today, a fire alarm was activated at Marshall 6th Grade Academy. All students and staff were safely evacuated as a precaution. There was no fire. The campus was cleared as safe for students and staff to return and resume instruction.

Substitute opportunities are available across the district, with positions ranging from classroom teachers and educational assistants to nurses, student nutrition staff, administrative assistants, and custodial staff.
Daily rates range from $115 to $200 per day, depending on the position and qualifications, with select positions paying $15 per hour.
Substitutes play an important role in keeping our schools running smoothly and supporting students and staff when additional help is needed.

Clovis Municipal Schools’ Elementary Youth Program is offering basketball clinics for students in grades K-6 from Sept. 14 through Oct. 15. Students will have the opportunity to build skills, learn teamwork, and have fun on the court!

Lockwood Early Childhood Center Power Outage
August 20, 2026 - 1:30 PM - Lockwood Early Childhood Center is currently experiencing a power outage. Students have been fed, and thanks to ample natural light in the building, instruction and normal classroom activities are continuing.

At approximately 10:35 a.m. today, a fire alarm was activated at La Casita Elementary School. All students and staff were safely evacuated as a precaution. There was no fire; the alarm was triggered by a water-flow sensor. The campus was cleared as safe for students and staff to return and resume instruction.
