Clovis Municipal Schools will soon hold a special mail-in election to reauthorize the Capital Improvement Act Tax, a long-standing funding source that helps keep our schools safe, functional, and well-maintained.

This tax:
• Supports ongoing maintenance, technology, and safety upgrades at all schools
• This is not a new tax. This levy is already in place and simply requires voter reauthorization.
• Helps protect over $2 million per year for essential upkeep across our district.

🗳 How to vote:
Ballots will be mailed in January. Complete and return your ballot by February 12, 2026.

Informational graphic from Clovis Municipal Schools explaining a special mail-in election to reauthorize the Capital Improvement Act Tax. The graphic includes the district logo and headline, “Clovis Municipal Schools Special Election: Understanding the Capital Improvement Act Tax.” It explains that the tax is not new but a renewal already in place and supports school maintenance. A side-by-side comparison shows the General Obligation Bond, passed November 2025, funding a single large-scale project at Clovis High School and creating debt, versus the Capital Improvement Act Tax, which funds ongoing maintenance, technology, and safety upgrades at all schools and creates no debt. The graphic notes over $2 million per year is at stake without renewal. Voting steps are shown: watch for ballots mailed in January, fill out and return the ballot by mail, and meet the deadline of February 12, 2026.

This is a friendly reminder that Winter Break for Clovis Municipal Schools will take place from December 22, 2025, through January 6, 2026.

Please note the following important dates:

  • All district offices will be closed from December 22 through January 1.

  • 12-month employees return on Friday, January 2.

  • Teachers/staff return on Monday, January 5.

  • Students will return to school on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.
