Volunteers Needed
You are invited to join us for an upcoming volunteer training session. All volunteers are required to attend training before volunteering at a school campus or event. Sessions last around 45 minutes, and you only have to attend one session.

Fall 2025 Volunteer Training Sessions:

  • August 28th–1:30pm

  • September 9th–6:30pm

  • September 18th–1:30pm

  • October 7th–6:30pm

  • October 21st–1:30pm

  • November 6th–6:30pm

  • November 13th–1:30pm

All Volunteer Trainings will be held at the CMS Central Office

The purpose of the screening is to identify any factors that may interfere with a child's learning, growth and development.

It's game day! Did you know that all CMS employees and their immediate family members can come to home football games for free? Employees must show the CMS ID badge for free admission.

Don't forget that our students also get free admission. (CHS/CHSFA students must show their student IDs; Early College High School students can show their CCC ID card). Middle school and elementary school students can attend for free with a paying parent/guardian. Middle school students must either sit with their parent/guardian or remain in the middle school section.

Come on out to tonight's game at 7 PM to cheer on our Wildcat football team as they take on Farmington at Leon Williams Stadium.

Come out and support our Clovis High School Cheer program as they rally to raise funds for the 25/26 cheer season. There are two upcoming ways to get involved:

🎟️ 50/50 Raffle - Friday, August 22, 2025. Raffle tickets will be available for $1 each at the football game this Friday. 50% of the raffle money goes to the winner and 50% supports our cheerleading program.

Due to a geothermal cooling system issue, students will be released at 1:30 PM. Their mechanical and technology teams are en route and working to resolve the problem.

At approximately 1:30 PM, on Friday, August 15, 2025 a Chromebook in a classroom at Clovis High School overheated. The Chromebook was extinguished without injury to any students or staff.

The school was evacuated as a precaution, and the incident was handled promptly by school staff following district safety protocols. The Clovis Fire Department responded and students were able to return to class.

CHS was evacuated at around 1:30 PM due to an overheated Chromebook in a classroom. The fire department was able to clear the scene and students were able to return to class.

Update 11:03 AM - After a thorough investigation, the Secure and Teach Mode at CHS and CHSFA has been lifted at this time.

Update 10:50 AM - Clovis High School Freshman Academy has been placed in Secure & Teach mode to allow for investigation into comments made by a student at the Clovis High School campus.

Clovis High School was briefly placed in Secure & Teach at approximately 10:40 am on August 14, 2025, while school officials work with law enforcement to investigate comments reported by students.

Practice is held on Monday and Tuesday at Ned Houk and at Clovis High School on Wednesday through Friday. Practices typically run from 7th period to 5:30 PM on most days.

Cross Country is open to students in 7-12th grade.

Students will need a sports physical and proof of insurance uploaded to RankOne before they can practice.

To comply with a new state law, Clovis Municipal Schools has updated its rules for phones, tablets, smartwatches, smart glasses, and headphones/earbuds:

  • K-8: Off and out of sight during the school day

  • 9-12: Off during class; allowed at lunch & before/after school

  • Staff: Use only for professional purposes during instruction

✅ Exceptions apply for emergencies, medical needs, and documented accommodations.

The Office of the Special Education Ombud (OSEO) offers free, confidential support to help New Mexico families navigate the special education system. Services include advocacy, meeting support, and collaboration to reduce barriers for students. OSEO also hosts monthly virtual office hours every first Thursday from 4:00–5:00 p.m., August 2025 through June 2026, where families can ask questions and get guidance.
