In response to a recent increase in anonymous and unidentifiable phone calls to our schools, Clovis Municipal Schools is implementing a new measure to enhance campus safety. Effective immediately, any incoming calls that do not display a caller ID or appear as “anonymous” will be automatically blocked from reaching school campuses.
We understand that some callers may intentionally block their number for privacy, but in order to maintain a safe and secure learning environment, we must ensure that all communications can be properly identified and verified. We encourage anyone needing to contact a school to ensure their phone number is visible when calling.

Statement on Anonymous Threatening Calls Received January 26, 2026
On Monday, January 26, 2026, two Clovis Municipal Schools campuses received anonymous phone calls containing threatening language. Law enforcement was immediately contacted, and the district worked closely with authorities to assess the situation.
Following a thorough investigation, law enforcement determined that the calls did not represent a credible threat. Preliminary findings suggest that the calls may have been generated using artificial intelligence technology, a growing concern across the country.
We are aware that information from police scanner traffic was shared on social media before official facts were confirmed. We understand this caused concern for some families, and we want to assure our community that any time a potential threat is reported, our safety protocols are activated without delay. We prioritize the safety of our students and staff above all else, and we communicate with families as soon as verified information is available.
We appreciate the swift response from law enforcement and the continued cooperation of our school community. As always, we remain committed to providing a safe and secure learning environment for all.

Clovis Municipal Schools will start on 2-Hour delay Tuesday, January 27, 2026.
Out of an abundance of caution, Clovis Municipal Schools will begin on a 2-hour delay Tuesday, January 27, 2026, due to potentially hazardous road conditions resulting from overnight freezing temperatures.
During a two-hour delay, schedules are shifted by two hours to allow additional time for safe travel and improvement of conditions.
3Y AM preschool programs are cancelled.
Bus schedules and school arrival times can be calculated by adding two hours to regular schedules. For example, if the bus normally picks students up at 7 a.m., on delayed scheduling, the bus will arrive at 9 a.m. Likewise, if students are normally dropped off at school by 7:30 a.m., they would be dropped off by 9:30 a.m.
During a delay, school meals, including breakfast, are provided as usual.
Maintenance and custodial staff are to report at the regular time to prepare buildings for entry. District administrators and supervisors are to report within 45 minutes of their normal start time. Cafeteria staff report at 7:30. All other staff report on the delayed schedule.

🏀 Lady Wildcats vs. Hobbs - Varsity Basketball Game
⏰ 7PM - Winner drawn at halftime

Due to the inclement weather conditions in our region and the built-in open dates within our district schedule, we will officially begin district basketball games this Friday, January 30, 2026.
As a result, the Wildcat and Lady Wildcat basketball games against Carlsbad, which were originally scheduled for tomorrow, January 27, have been rescheduled to next Tuesday, February 3, which is a designated district open date.
Thank you for your understanding, and we appreciate your continued flexibility as we work to ensure the safety of our student-athletes, staff, and spectators.

Clovis Municipal Schools to Operate on Remote Learning Schedule Monday, Jan. 26.
Due to forecasted extreme cold and ongoing hazardous road conditions, Clovis Municipal Schools will shift to a Remote Learning schedule on Monday, Jan. 26, 2026.
Thanks to preparations made for Friday’s remote learning, students are equipped with Chromebooks and materials to continue learning remotely on Monday.
Operations and Maintenance staff should report at 10 a.m. on Monday to begin preparing buildings and walkways for the safe return of students and staff on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
We appreciate your flexibility and continued commitment to the safety and well-being of our school community.

Clovis Municipal Schools will shift to remote learning on Friday, January 23, 2026.
A significant winter storm is expected to move into our area early Friday morning, beginning with drizzle that may quickly turn to freezing rain and eventually snow. As temperatures drop, roads may become slick and hazardous throughout the day.
Although Friday's snowfall is expected to be light, heavier snow and dangerously cold temperatures are forecast over the weekend. Information regarding school on Monday will be announced by Sunday evening.
Thank you for your continued support as we make safety our top priority.
