About the Freshman Academy
The Freshman High School Academy is the launching point for a successful secondary school experience. Through a total teaming concept, the freshman high school curriculum provides all students with the basic fundamentals of language arts, social studies, science/health, and mathematics and includes foreign languages, music, fine arts, athletics, and career-technical education.
Pre-Advanced Placement courses are offered in language arts and math. Through the required Gateway to Careers course, students are introduced to a variety of career pathways that directly align with the student’s selected course of study, while developing workplace ethics and organizational skills. In addition, 10-12th grade course offerings are available, and Challenge Exams in Math and English allow students to demonstrate mastery of course content by passing an assessment designed for each required course. Character development continues to be integrated across the curriculum.
The mission of the Clovis High School Freshman Academy, an energetic, compassionate team of professionals devoted to an ideal beyond themselves, is to equip each Freshman with the skills necessary for lifelong success and positive character development through significant relationships and a rigorous and relevant curriculum, in partnership with family, church and community.
