Clovis, NM
The New Mexico Public Education Department recently released its latest school designation data, recognizing Barry, Mesa, and Zia schools as Spotlight Schools for ranking in the top 25% of public schools across the state.
This year, all other schools within the Clovis Municipal School District have achieved a Traditional School designation. Notably, W.D. Gattis Middle School progressed from a CSI (Comprehensive Support and Improvement) designation to Traditional, while Marshall, Yucca, Parkview, and iAcademy improved from ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) to Traditional status. School designations are determined based on a range of criteria, including academic proficiency in Math, Science, and Reading, growth in Math and Reading, and graduation rates; as well as performance within specific student groups, such as English language learners, students with disabilities, ethnicity groups, and students with an economically disadvantaged status.
While Spotlight School qualifications are reviewed annually, the next potential designation change for Traditional status will occur in the 2026-27 school year.
Congratulations to all campuses for their ongoing commitment to academic progress and excellence.
