Clovis Youth Program Offers Free Athletic Opportunites for K-6 Students

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Clovis, NM - Hundreds of young Wildcats are gearing up for an exciting summer of sports and creativity through the Clovis Municipal Schools Youth Programs. Designed for students in kindergarten through 6th grade, the program provides free, safe, and engaging activities that promote physical fitness, teamwork, and skill-building, which builds a foundation for future success in athletics and beyond.

Thanks to a strong partnership between Clovis Municipal Schools and the City of Clovis, the Elementary Youth Program is helping to build the next generation of Wildcat athletes while also giving families access to high-quality, no-cost extracurricular opportunities.

“These early experiences do more than build athletic skills - they instill confidence, discipline, and a love for being active,” said Garrick Sherrod, Coordinator of Youth Programs. “We’re proud to offer these opportunities to students and grateful for the community support that makes it possible.”

Currently, the Elementary Youth Program offers:

  • Co-Ed Flag Football

  • Co-Ed Volleyball

  • Boys and Girls Basketball

  • Track

  • Soccer

All programs are offered at no cost to students in grades K–6 who are currently enrolled with Clovis Municipal Schools.

In addition to athletics, the summer months will see over 400 students participating in both fine arts and sports programs, reflecting the district’s commitment to well-rounded student development. These opportunities not only strengthen fundamental athletic abilities but also emphasize values like teamwork, perseverance, and healthy living.

With participation continuing to grow, Clovis Municipal Schools and the City of Clovis remain dedicated to providing youth programs that inspire, support, and prepare students for a bright future.
