Stan Hodges – a long-time high school football coach with more than 25 years of experience and over 50 playoff games under his belt - has been selected for and accepted the position of head football coach at Clovis High School.
Specializing in Character Education, Hodges began his career in 1996, as the running back and track coach at Calallen High School, where he remained until 1999, when he accepted a varsity football and wrestling coach position at Judson High School, later named 2002 state champions under his guidance.
Hodges went on to serve as boys athletic director and head football coach at Kountze Independent School District from 2005-2009, lifting them into two, back-to-back winning seasons. He then coached the defensive line at Deer Park High School in 2009, and in 2011, Hodges served as offensive coordinator for West Orange-Stark High School, and then at Galveston Ball High School in 2012.
Athletic director and head football coach at Hull-Daisetta Independent School District from 2013 to 2020, following 5 playoff appearances, Hodges moved to Permian High School in 2021, where he has coached varsity running backs and track since.
Hodges holds a masters degree in education administration from Texas A&M, and a bachelors in kinesiology from Angelo State University.
Coach Hodges will officially assume this position this month and will meet with the Wildcats on Wednesday for a first-introduction. Additional opportunities to meet with players and parents will be announced in the near future. This vacancy was created by the departure of Andrew McCraw.
