Dear Parkview Families,
Welcome to another wonderful year at Parkview Elementary – The Happy School! We are excited to partner with you to make this a safe, successful, and joyful school year for every child.
With nearly 400 students arriving and departing each day, we ask for your patience and cooperation as we work together to ensure every student gets to and from school safely.
Morning Arrival
Our doors open at 7:30 a.m.
Staff members will be serving as greeters in the traffic loop.
Please pull forward to the farthest available greeter. They will safely guide your child into the building.
Once your child is safely on the sidewalk, please continue through the loop so we can keep traffic moving efficiently.
Afternoon Dismissal
Safety is our highest priority during dismissal.
Students cannot be checked out after 2:40 p.m. During this time, classes are wrapping up instruction, packing up, and preparing for dismissal. This helps us ensure an organized and safe release for all students.
All students not riding the bus are dismissed from the front of the school.
We dismiss seven families at a time to keep the process safe and organized.
Please display the Parkview pickup tag (provided by the school) with your student's name clearly visible. This helps our staff quickly identify and call for your child.
Please remain in the pickup line. We will load students as quickly and safely as possible. Our average dismissal time is approximately 12 minutes.
Please do not drive around or cut in front of other vehicles. Doing so creates safety concerns and disrupts our dismissal process.
If You Park and Walk Up
If you park and use the sidewalk, please wait patiently. The crosswalk will not open until seven vehicles have pulled through and are waiting in the pickup lane.
If you walk up to pick up your child, we ask that you remain outside the student waiting area. A staff member will bring your child to you.
As the school year progresses, our staff will quickly learn your vehicle and your child, making dismissal even faster and more efficient.
Thank you for your patience, kindness, and partnership. At Parkview, we know that getting students to school safely and getting them home safely is one of the most important things we do each day. Your cooperation allows us to keep traffic flowing while ensuring every child arrives home safely with the right adult.
