As we kick off Hispanic Heritage Month, we couldn't think of a better House to put in the spotlight than AMISTAD — the House of Friendship! 🏠❤️
Amistad originates from Mexico and represents a group of kind, powerful individuals known for their unconquered spirit. The name Amistad means friendship in Spanish—a perfect reminder that one of the greatest things we can do is lift each other up, celebrate one another, and make sure no one feels like they’re standing alone.
And then there's the PEACOCK. 🦚
The immortal peacock is the symbolic animal of Amistad, reminding our students to discover their own feathers and step into their greatness. Because sometimes, you don't realize just how much you have to offer until you find your feathers and let them shine!
Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, we’ll celebrate the rich cultures, traditions, stories, accomplishments, music, art, and people that make our world such an incredible place to learn from and appreciate.
So turn up the music, show us those dance moves, and let those peacock feathers fly! 🦚💃🏽🕺🏽
