Our 7th and 8th grade Yucca Chaps are headed to the 2026 Portales Volleyball Tournament tomorrow, Friday, August 21! We’re sharing the attached schedules, brackets, and tournament information so our families and fans have everything they need to come out and support our Chaps! 🏐💙🤍

🏐 7th Grade: Tournament play begins at 8:00 AM.
🏐 8th Grade: Pool play begins at 8:00 AM, with bracket play following later in the day.
📣 Important reminders for both the 7th & 8th grade tournaments:
• Games will run on a rolling schedule.
• Outside food and drinks must remain in the lobby. Only water is allowed on the playing floor.
• A clear bag policy will be in effect.
• Admission will be charged at the door.
• Team camps may be set up in the lobby, but no volleyballs are allowed in the lobby.
Please check the attached flyers for game times, gym locations, pool play, and bracket information.

• Los partidos continuarán de acuerdo con el horario del torneo.
• Los alimentos y bebidas de afuera deben permanecer en el lobby. Solamente se permitirá agua en el área de juego.
• Estará vigente una política de bolsas transparentes.
• Se cobrará la entrada al torneo.

Yucca Middle School is incredibly proud to celebrate one of our very own! Yesterday, our security guard was presented with the FIRST-EVER Guard of the Year Award, recognizing his outstanding service during the 2025–2026 school year! 🎉👏
This recognition is especially meaningful because it honors someone who has dedicated so much of himself to the students, staff, and families of Yucca Middle School. He began serving at YMS on August 23, 2017, and this year he begins his 9th year as part of our Yucca family! 💙
Being a school security guard is about so much more than watching doors and hallways. It is about building relationships, looking out for our kids, being a familiar and trusted face every morning, and doing everything possible to make sure our school is a safe and welcoming place. For nearly a decade, he has done exactly that.
Those who know him know that he is a hardworking man who is deeply dedicated to his job and his family. He is a proud husband and father to one son, and when he isn't working, you might just find him enjoying some well-deserved time fishing! 🎣
We are grateful for the countless mornings, afternoons, school events, conversations, and moments—both big and small—that he has spent taking care of our Yucca family.
Congratulations on being named the first-ever Guard of the Year! 🏆 You have set the standard for what this award represents, and we couldn't be prouder to call you one of our own.

¡Yucca Middle School se enorgullece enormemente de celebrar a uno de los nuestros! ¡Ayer, nuestro guardia de seguridad recibió el PRIMER premio de Guardia del Año, en reconocimiento a su extraordinario servicio durante el año escolar 2025–2026! 🎉👏
Este reconocimiento es especialmente significativo porque honra a una persona que ha dedicado tanto de sí misma a los estudiantes, al personal y a las familias de Yucca Middle School. Comenzó a trabajar en YMS el 23 de agosto de 2017, y este año comienza su noveno año como parte de nuestra familia Yucca. 💙
Ser guardia de seguridad escolar significa mucho más que vigilar puertas y pasillos. Returning Student Registration Update
We've received several questions about returning student registration, and we want to reassure our families that your student's enrollment for the 2026-2027 school year is secure.
As part of our transition from Skyward to Synergy, all existing student records were successfully imported into the new system. That means we already have your student's information and their school assignment for the upcoming school year.
Who should complete New Student Registration?
✅ Students enrolling in Clovis Municipal Schools for the very first time
✅ All Pre-K students who have never been entered into the district's student information system.
✅ Kindergarten students who have never been entered into the district's student information system

If you need assistance accessing your ParentVUE account, please contact academic.services@clovis-schools.org. Be aware that due to a high volume of emails, you may not receive an immediate response.
Important for Kindergarten Families:
If you completed your kindergarten registration in Skyward before we transitioned to Synergy, you do not need to complete the New Student Registration form. Your student's information has already been transferred into Synergy.
What about returning students?
Returning Student Registration (verification) will open soon. This process allows families to review and update contact information, emergency contacts, health information, and other important details before the school year begins.
Although verification has not yet opened, your student is already in our system and assigned for the upcoming school year. We appreciate your patience as we complete the final steps to make Returning Student Registration available.

🏈 YUCCA FOOTBALL PRE-SEASON CAMP 🏈
Incoming Yucca 7th and 8th graders, get ready for football season! Join the Yucca coaching staff for two weeks of football skills and conditioning designed to help athletes prepare for the upcoming season.
📅 July 27–31 & August 3–7
⏰ 3–5 p.m. each day

Athletes should bring shorts, a T-shirt, cleats, and a water bottle. A current physical and all required Rank One forms must be completed before participation.

Yesterday was filled with laughter, teamwork, friendly competition, and so many smiles from our students. It was such a great day to celebrate the hard work our students have put in all year long!
