At Zia Elementary, our 2nd graders have taken financial literacy to the next level with their creative and collaborative Paper Market Project! Over the past few weeks, students from all four 2nd-grade classes worked together to design and build their own market—using only paper to create products and storefronts. From colorful handmade toys to intricately folded accessories, their creativity knew no bounds!
The project culminated in a bustling marketplace set up in the school atrium. Students became entrepreneurs and customers, buying and selling their paper goods using “Zia Thunderbucks,” specially designed by their teachers.
This hands-on activity wasn’t just about fun—it was a practical lesson in teamwork, money management, and financial literacy. Our young learners practiced skills like budgeting, making purchases, and understanding the value of a dollar in an engaging and memorable way.
We couldn’t be prouder of our 2nd-grade dreamers and doers for turning their big ideas into reality. The Paper Market was a huge success and a wonderful example of the innovative learning happening here at Zia Elementary! 🌟 #FinancialLiteracy #ZiaThunderbirds #FutureEntrepreneurs
