TO OUR COMMUNITY – THANK YOU FOR EXERCISING YOUR RIGHT TO BE HEARD!
LA CASITA ELEMENTARY WILL ATTEND REMOTELY ON WEDNESDAY TO ALLOW FOR WATER MAIN REPAIRS La Casita Elementary School will conduct instruction remotely on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, to allow for repairs to the campus’ water main, which was damaged by recent cold temperatures. On Remote Learning days students are expected to attend school virtually and attendance will be taken at all grade levels by logging into Google classroom. Grab and go meals will be made available for pick-up by families at the nearby iAcademy campus between 9-10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Though the issues with the water system at the school were discovered upon opening Tuesday morning, students were able to attend in-person without being affected. It will, however, be necessary to turn off water service to the campus in order to complete repairs on Wednesday, leading to the decision to hold a remote instruction day. Only La Casita has been affected, all other schools will conduct in-person instruction Wednesday, as scheduled. Remote Learning Information & Instructions: Instruction at La Casita Elementary School will be conducted in Remote Learning Mode on Tuesday, January 17, 2024. Grab & Go meals for La Casita students only will be available for pickup from 9 - 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at iAcademy, 206 Alphon Street. Teachers will use the remainder of today to prepare Google Classroom and ensure students take Chromebooks home. For those students without reliable home internet, packets will be sent home. Students will be expected to log in online at regular time on Remote Learning days, attendance will be taken. For students who are absent from school today, families should contact their school and make arrangements to pick up Chromebooks and/or materials prior to dismissal today. Students will be expected to log in online at regular time on Remote Learning days, attendance will be taken. Attendance will be taken by logging into Google classroom: For students without internet who are provided packets, attendance is taken based upon completed packet upon return to school.
