**UPDATE, As of 9:54 AM power has been restored at Barry, Highland and Sandia.** Power outages are currently affecting Barry Elementary, Sandia Elementary, and Highland Elementary as of 8 a.m. on Feb. 12,2025. Crews are working to restore service, but no estimated time for restoration is available. Breakfast has been served and instruction will continue. We will provide updates as more information becomes available.

UPDATE: Marshall Sixth Grade Academy has been moved into Secure and Move mode in response to concerning social media comments made by a student. There will be a police presence at Marshall, but regular school dismissal procedures will be followed.
ORIGINAL MESSAGE: At approximately 2:55 p.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, Marshall 6th Grade Academy was placed in Secure and Move to allow for an investigation concerning social media comments made by a student.
Law enforcement has responded and is investigating in coordination with school administrators.
During a Secure and Move, all exterior entrances are secured, movement is limited within the building, and instruction continues as scheduled.

At approximately 11:30 AM, Friday, January 17, 2025, Clovis High School Freshman Academy was placed in Secure and Teach to allow for an investigation concerning written comments made by a student. Law enforcement has responded and is investigating in coordination with school administrators. At this time we don’t believe it is a credible threat, but out of an abundance of caution, we will maintain a police presence on campus.

The CHS boys' varsity basketball game against Portales on Friday, January 10, has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Important Announcement: Clovis Municipal Schools will be releasing students early today due to worsening weather conditions.
Friday, January 10, 2025 will be a remote learning day. All staff, including maintenance and custodial, will be remote for Friday. Students are expected to log in to Google Classroom at 9 AM to get the schedule for the day.
In partnership with the City of Clovis, and to allow them time to continue to clear major roadways, Clovis Municipal Schools will be releasing students at the following times:
Preschool/Elementary: 1:30 PM
Middle School: 2:00 PM
Secondary: 2:30 PM - Secondary student drivers are being released immediately.

We are thrilled to share that our CHS Varsity Hearthstone Team clinched an incredible win yesterday after school, defeating Hobbs in the Finals match of the Pacific Region Hearthstone Playoffs! This hard-fought battle came down to the wire, but our team showed exceptional skill, strategy, and perseverance to emerge as the Pacific Region Hearthstone Grand Champions! 🎮💪

At around 11:50 AM on December 12, 2024, a Fire Alarm went off at Lockwood Early Childhood Center due to smoke caused by popcorn. Students were evacuated out of an abundance of caution. The Fire Department cleared the building and students were allowed to reenter.

At approximately 8:00 AM today, Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, out of an abundance of caution Sandia Elementary was briefly placed on “Secure and Move” due to activity in the neighborhood. Following confirmation from law enforcement, secure and move was lifted.

November 20, 204 - La Casita Elementary and iAcademy are currently experiencing a power outage due to a downed power line on Highway 60/84. As a result, school phones are temporarily unavailable.
District administrators remain reachable by phone and are actively monitoring the situation in collaboration with utility providers. We will provide updates as soon as more information becomes available. Parents who need information can reach the district office at 575-769-4300.

On Saturday, October 19th, 2024, the Clovis High School Marching band was awarded Grand Champion at the Zia Marching Fiesta in Albuquerque, NM. This competition is one of the most prestigious marching band events in the Southwest. The Wildcat Band was awarded best band in class 5A and won Grand Champion, beating out 21 other New Mexico high schools. This marks the twelfth consecutive year that the CHS Band has been named Grand Champion!
