🎄🎁 Operation Christmas Child – Sharing Hope Around the World! ❤️🌎

Our BSA students are coming together to spread kindness, love, and Christmas cheer to children around the world! 🌟 Through Operation Christmas Child, we have the wonderful opportunity to make a difference by filling shoeboxes with gifts that will bring smiles to children in need. We are asking our amazing BSA families to help by donating items such as toothbrushes, hairbrushes, toys, crayons, coloring books, books, stuffed animals, socks, and clothing! 🎅🎁 Please remember that all donated items must be new, and no liquid items are allowed. To make giving even more exciting, we are having a little friendly classroom competition!
🏆🍕 The class that collects the most donations by October 31st will win a PIZZA PARTY, and the class that comes in second place will win a CUPCAKE PARTY! 🧁🎉 Every donation, big or small, can help brighten a child's Christmas and remind them that someone across the world is thinking of them. Together, we can turn a simple shoebox into a gift of hope, happiness, and love! 🎄❤️

🎃🧡 A Spook-tacular Time in Mrs. Constable’s No Bake Bistro! 🧡🎃

Our little chefs in Mrs. Constable’s No Bake Bistro Enrichment Class had a fang-tastic time bringing a favorite fall story to life with a delicious twist! Inspired by Spookley the Square Pumpkin, students rolled up their sleeves and created their very own edible square pumpkins using graham crackers, bright orange icing, and candy corn! 🍬👩‍🍳 From spreading their icing to decorating their pumpkin masterpieces, students practiced creativity, fine motor skills, and following directions while having a whole lot of fun! Just like Spookley taught us, being different is what makes us special, and every pumpkin turned out uniquely wonderful! Who knew learning could be so sweet? These little chefs definitely cooked up some fall magic—without ever turning on an oven! 🍁🧡

Get ready, BSA, because TOMORROW, Friday, October 16th, our students have an exciting opportunity to RUN THROUGH THE WILDCATS TUNNEL before the high school football players take the field! 🏈💜 This is our chance to show our Wildcat pride, bring the energy, and represent Barry S.T.E.A.M. Academy under those Friday night lights!
🌟 Students participating need to be on the football field at 6:30 PM, with our big run-through happening at 6:40 PM! Let's fill the stadium with purple, black, and white as our BSA Students will make memories they'll never forget!

Students in Mrs. Briseño's class worked together to create one design to reduce the sun's warming effect while at the beach. Before building they sketched many ideas and voted on one design as a class to create. Students had pom poms, pipe cleaners, wooden dowels, foil, saran wrap, modeling clay, popsicle sticks, a foam board, glue sticks and scissors.

Mrs. Adams’ 1st graders have been exploring the exciting world of animal adaptations and environments! 🐾🌎 Students learned how living things adapt to survive in different habitats. To put their learning into action, they created their own environment and designed clothing for a traveler that would help them survive in one of the four environments they studied. This hands-on activity encouraged creativity, problem-solving, and a deeper understanding of how adaptations help living things thrive in their surroundings!

BSA After-School Program

We are excited to offer your student the opportunity to participate in the BSA After-School Program!

This program is completely free of charge to participating families and will be held Monday–Friday from 3:00–5:00 p.m., October 13 through December 18.

If you are interested in having your student participate, please complete the Google Form using the link below. We have 100 spots open, participants will be selected through a lottery system.

Wednesday in Mrs. Romero's Barry Bistro enrichment class, our students had a splash of fun making their very own Ocean Water, complete with shark gummies swimming in their drinks! 🦈🌊 The drinks turned out great, but the best part was seeing how excited, engaged, and proud the students were of what they created. Experiences like this make Barry Bistro such a fun and meaningful learning opportunity, giving students a chance to learn, create, and enjoy something they made themselves. It continues to be such a rewarding experience for both our students and me! ☺️💙
